Giftbags Galore Instructions!

Hurray!  A couple friends, Tracy & Deb, came to the rescue with notes they took during Linda’s demonstration of the cute giftbags I showed you in this post.  So thanks to them, I’m able to give you instructions on how to make them.  I’m not going to call this a tutorial, because I haven’t made one so the instructions haven’t been tested, but they don’t seem to be very complicated – if you can wrap a gift, you can make one of these bags!

You’ll need a cereal box (Linda Hanson used a Chex cereal box), 12″x 12″ Designer Paper, adhesive, and any stamped images/embellishements that you like.

Using Designer Paper, wrap the cereal box like a gift box, leaving one end open (this may take 2 sheets of paper). Don’t tape the DP to the cereal box.  Here’s a picture of the closed end of the box.

Slip the box out of the Designer Paper.  Cut a piece of cardboard to fit inside the bottom of the bag and place it inside, adhering it to the bottom.  Reinforce the top of the bag by folding the Designer Paper over (Deb’s notes say 1 3/4″) and adhere to the inside.  Attach ribbon to the bag using brads to create handles.  Decorate as desired.

Tracy also noted that the frosting on the cupcake bag was made by mixing Real Red classic ink refill with Whisper White craft ink refill, swirling it around a bit and apply to the cupcake with a sponge dauber.
